Charting Your Course: Job-Centric Training Strategies Propel IFS Cloud Adoption!
Crafting end-user training for IFS Cloud isn't just about delivering content — it is about sculpting an experience that speaks directly to individual job roles unique to your organization. Yet, mastering this art for IFS Cloud training presents a challenge more complex than anticipated.
The Opportunity
On our consulting journey, the SNG team got to look into numerous formats of training material & recorded training sessions for IFS Cloud.
What we uncovered was a common misstep: many organizations crafted training materials broad enough to fit any role, neglecting the unique workflow changes resulting from the IFS Cloud implementation inherent to each job profile.
SNG recognizes this as an opportunity for transformation. We can revolutionize the training landscape by customizing content to align seamlessly with diverse job profiles.
Best Practices While Forging Job centric Training for IFS Cloud
From planners to administrators, technicians to managers, each role navigates IFS Cloud with its distinct set of processes with some overlaps.
Here's where proactive measures come into play while forging effective IFS Cloud training content:
Measuring Impact On Job Profiles
Identify how the new IFS Cloud system impacts workflows for each job profile. Let's examine sample questions to facilitate this process.
For each job profile, like Planner, technician & others
What does their current workflow involve? A system, a spreadsheet, a tool?
Is it manual or automated?
Will this workflow change completely, 100 % or 70% or 50%?
The percentage of the change in workflows will help to identify the impact.
Prioritize profiles with maximum impact.
Identify ‘What Changes?’ For Each Job Profile
List the specific daily workflows that will change for each Job Profile post-IFS Cloud Implementation. Then clearly list: “What is changing in each workflow?’
For instance:
Field Technicians are now using SMS for absence approval; they will use the FSM Mobile App
Planners used Excel spreadsheets and a planning app; now, they will use PSO workflows.
The Managers were primarily using emails & daily calls for updates, now they will get live updates through the PSO system
Find Circulate to All Content
Establish the training content and changing Processes that universally impact all job profiles. This category of training content can be kept ready from the beginning for universal circulation to all End Users.
A few topics from Ready to Circulate content
System Interface Training
Navigation Training
IFS Cloud Search & Filters Training
Preparing for Workflow Interdependencies
Lastly, identify the overlap & dependencies within the processes for different profiles. This will allow you to decide on the training content that needs to be delivered jointly. Let us look at a few examples –
The Administrator creates the new work in the IFS Cloud System, and the Planner gets a notification in the Lobby Screen to schedule the work.
The technician updates the Delay in starting work in the Mobile App & the Planner & Administrator get notified so they can take the following action.
By charting a course that revolves around job-centric training strategies, SNG believes in enhancing IFS Cloud adoption and fostering a culture of agility and efficiency.
